Die Academia Baltica (Lübeck) lädt zu einer Nachwuchstagung ein, die dem Thema „Der Ostseeraum – eine europäische Region im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert“ gewidmet ist. Die Tagung wird vom 3. bis 5. April 2009 in Malente (Holsteinische Schweiz) stattfinden. Sie soll jüngere Wissenschaftler aus Deutschland, Polen und den baltischen Staaten zusammenbringen und sie zu einer Diskussion verschiedener Aspekte der politischen, wirtschaftlichen, sozialen und kulturellen Beziehungen im Ostseeraum anregen. Tagungssprachen sind Deutsch und Englisch. Zur Sprache kommen sollen Themen der historischen Raumkonstitution und –dissoziation, der Nations- und Blockbildung, der politischen und wirtschaftlichen Kooperation und Konfrontation im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert und entsprechende aktuelle Entwicklungen im Rahmen der EU- und Ostseezusammenarbeit behandeln. Außerdem werden Themen der Geschichtskultur, Geschichtspolitik und der nationalen Beziehungsgeschichte der Länder des Ostseeraums im Mittelpunkt der Diskussion stehen.
Die Organisatoren der Tagung, Prof. Dr. Ralph Tuchtenhagen (Universität Hamburg), Dr. Konrad Maier (Nordost-Institut Lüneburg) und Prof. Dr. Karsten Brüggemann (Universität Tallinn) laden jüngere Wissenschaftler (Magistranden, M.A., Doktoranden und Postdocs) ein, die sich mit den oben genannten Aspekten zur Geschichte des Ostseeraums beschäftigen und aus Deutschland, Polen oder den baltischen Staaten stammen. The Academia Baltica (Lübeck, Germany) invites you to a conference dedicated to the topic „The Baltic Sea – a European region in the 19th and 20th century“. The conference will take place in Malente (Holstein, Germany) on April 3-5, 2009. It aims at bringing together the rising generation of historians, political scientists, cultural analysts and represantatives of related disciplines from Germany, Poland, and the Baltic States in order to discuss various aspects of political, economic, social, and cultural relations in the Baltic Sea region. Conference languages will be German and English. The thematical focus is on questions of historical space constitution and dissociation, nation and block building, political and economic cooperation and confrontation in the 19th and 20th centuries as well as present-day developments within the frame of EU and Baltic Sea cooperation. Moreover, topics of history culture, history politics, and the history of international relations in the Baltic Sea region are welcome.
The organisers of the conference, Prof. Dr. Ralph Tuchtenhagen (Hamburg University, Germany), Dr. Konrad Maier (Northeast Institute, Lüneburg, Germany) and Prof. Dr. Karsten Brüggemann (Tallinn University, Estonia) invite representatives of the younger generation of scholars (postgraduates, postdocs) dealing with the above mentioned aspects of the history of the Baltic Sea region and living in Germany, Poland, and the Baltic states to participate in the conference.
